Where the next customers come from
The first customers come from people who know you. The next ones come from the route itself: the houses you already drive past, and the people who see pools for a living.
Grow the streets you already drive
The cheapest new pool is one on a street you already service. Ask a happy customer if the neighbors have pools. Leave a door hanger on the streets you are already on, and none on the streets you are not. A customer two houses down adds a stop, not a drive.
Set up a Google Business Profile with the area you actually serve and the days you run it. People look up pool service from the backyard. A profile with a real name, a real phone number, and a few honest reviews from real customers is how a stranger finds you.
People who see pools for a living, and routes for sale
Realtors, home inspectors, and the people who sell and fix pool equipment all meet pool owners before you do. Introduce yourself, leave a card, and be the person who shows up when they send someone.
Some owners buy a route instead of building one: a list of accounts from someone who is leaving the trade. It can be a shortcut or an expensive list of customers who were about to quit. Read how a route purchase works before you sign anything.
